The Korean Brothers are on their final spurt to punch their ticket to the 2022-23 season on the United States Professional Golf (PGA) Tour. While Lim Sung-jae, Kim Si-woo, and Kim Joo-hyung have a good chance of making the final cut, Ahn Byung-hoon will need to perform well in this tournament.
The BMW Championship ($20 million purse), the second round of the FedExCup Playoffs (PO), begins on Sunday at Olympia Fields Country Club (par 70-7366) in Olympia Fields, Illinois, U.S. The top 50 players on the FedExCup points standings will compete in this event, followed by the Tour Championship, the final event of the season for the top 30 players.
The Tour Championship promises riches and fame. Last year’s championship winner, Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), took home $18 million, while the runner-up, Sungjae Lim, earned $5.75 million. In addition, advancing to the Tour Championship will qualify them for the following year’s Masters, US Open, and The Open.
The second round of the POs will feature four South Korean players – Lim Sung-jae, Kim Joo-hyung, Kim Si-woo, and Ahn Byung-hoon. Kim Siu is currently ranked 17th in the FedEx Cup, followed by Kim Joo-hyung at 18th, Im Sung-jae at 28th, and Ahn Byung-hoon at 38th. Last year, of the players who were outside the top 30 at the start of the second round of POs, only four made it to the final round, including Lee Kyung-hoon.
To qualify for the Tour Championship, Ahn will need a top-10 finish in the second round of the POs and to see how his competitors perform. Ahn has been using a broomstick putter this season and has shown signs of improvement, including a tie for third at the Scottish Open in July and a runner-up finish at the Wyndham Championship this month.메이저사이트
The Korean player who has garnered the most attention is Sung Jae Im.
