FC Seoul DF Lee Han-beom on impending transfer of ‘one pot meal with Cho Kyu-sung’ Meatwillan…”Very high price for a defender”

FC Seoul defender Lee Han-beom, 21, is headed to Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland.

On June 26, soccer sources reported that Lee Han-bum’s move to Mittwillan is imminent.

Lee made his debut for Seoul in the 2021 season as a central defender with excellent delivery and physicality at 6-foot-2. He has since developed into one of Seoul’s main defenders since the 2022 season and has appeared in 51 official matches to date.

Lee has been touted as a defender suited to modern soccer with his wide vision and reliable build-up ability, as well as his defensive ability, and has been tipped to succeed Kim Min-jae as a world-class defender.

Former Seoul coach Ahn Ik-soo said, “He has a very fast growth rate for his age. He thinks about soccer faster than others. I don’t know how far he will grow,” he praised.

A source from the soccer world said, “There were many teams looking for Lee Han-bum, and Mittwillan was the most active. The player is also strongly interested in the move,” and announced that he will depart for Denmark via Incheon International Airport on the 26th.

“The transfer fee offered by Mittwylan to Seoul is the same as previously reported,” the source said, noting that Lee’s transfer fee is more than 2 billion won, “a very high amount for a defender.”

“Lee will coordinate the details of the contract after arriving in Denmark and will proceed with a personal agreement with the club,” he added.

Meanwhile, national striker Cho Kyu-sung, who joined Midtjylland on July 11 and wears the number 10 shirt, has scored four goals in nine official appearances this season, including a goal in the opening game.

He started the Danish Superliga 2023-2024 season’s fifth round home match against Brønby IF at the MCH Arena in Henning, Denmark on Nov. 21 as a frontline striker, but was replaced by Junior Brumadou in the first 20 minutes due to discomfort in his right thigh.

“During the game, Cho Kyu-sung felt pain in his right thigh and underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, which confirmed a hamstring injury,” said Yoon Ki-young, a representative of Cho’s agent, Info Korea. “He was diagnosed as needing two weeks of rest.”스포츠토토

After five rounds of the 2023-2024 season, Mittwillan is in fourth place in the league with nine points (3W-2D).
