Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min and Ben Davies will face off against each other.
The South Korean national soccer team will play a friendly against Wales at Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, next month at 3:45 a.m. KST. It will be the first time in five and a half years that South Korea has played an exhibition match against a local nation in Europe since March 2018 against Northern Ireland and Poland.
The Welsh Football Association also announced its A-match roster on Sept. 31, while South Korea announced its September A-match roster.
Son’s Tottenham teammates Ben Davies and Joe Roden (Leeds United) are among those named. Brennan Johnson, Nico Williams, and Wayne Hennessey, all of whom play alongside Hwang Eui-jo (Nottingham Forest), are also included.
A number of key players from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, including former Arsenal and Juventus players Aaron Ramsey (Cardiff City), Kieffer Moore (Bournemouth), Joe Morel (Portsmouth), and Harry Wilson (Fulham), are also included.
This is the first time South Korea, ranked 28th in the FIFA rankings, and Wales, ranked 35th, have faced each other in an A-Match. Wales qualified for the last World Cup for the first time in 64 years, but failed to advance past the group stage.
