The Super Round will be played in a round-robin format with six teams finishing first through third in each group. Each team will play three teams from the other group, keeping their results from the group stage. The first and second place finishers advance to the final, while the third and fourth place finishers play for the bronze medal.
South Korea lost 1-6 to Chinese Taipei in the group stage. They lost to Japan 1-7 in the first game of the Super Round on Sunday. Korea (1-2) needs to beat both the United States and the Netherlands to go 3-2.
As of the 8th, Taiwan has three wins and Japan has three wins and one loss. Taiwan and Japan must both lose their remaining matches to tie at 3-2. However, if three teams have the same number of wins and losses, then Team Quality Balance (TQB) (runs per inning) is used to determine the ranking.
If South Korea, Chinese Taipei, and Japan tie at 3-2, South Korea has the lowest TQB, with 2 runs scored and 13 runs allowed. Even if the Taiwan-Japan game is won by either team in a 10-run cold game, both teams have a higher TBQ than Korea.
