The Professional Billiards Team League NHK Card is on a roll. They won all four games of the third round to solidify their sole lead.
The NHK Card solidified its sole lead in the third round of the Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League 2023-2024 with a 4-1 set victory over the Huons on the fourth day of the third round at the Goyang Kintex PBA Stadium in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province.
The NHL Cards, who lost two games to the Hawks in the first and second rounds, avenged their previous losses with the victory and continued their momentum by winning their fourth straight game in the third round to take sole possession of first place (11 points).
The NHK Cards started off on a shaky note as Cho Jae-ho and Oh Sung-wook lost 9-11 (6 games) to Semi Signer (Turkiye) and Kim Bong-chul in the first set, but Kim Min-ah and Kim Bomi fought back in the second set with a one-point victory over Jeon Ae-lin and Jang Ga-yeon, 9-8 (13 games). Kim Min-ah and Kim Bomi, in particular, won their ninth consecutive women’s doubles match with the victory, showing off their status as the ‘strongest women’s doubles’.
In the third set, ‘team leader’ Cho Jae-ho won 15-6 (7 games) against Choi Sung-won to take a 2-1 lead in the set, followed by Kim Hyun-woo and Kim Min-ah’s 9-7 (4 games) win over Javier Palazon (Spain) and Jang Ga-yeon (Korea) in the fourth set, and Antonio Montes (Spain)’s 11-10 (5 games) one-point win over Seigner in the fifth set to complete the team victory.
In the other match of the day, Welcome Savings Bank defeated rival Blue One Resorts in straight sets, 4-2, to earn its first three points of Round 3. At the same time, they won their second straight match to remain in sixth place. Crown HaeTae won its second straight match with a full-set victory over Eswai, 4-3, to move into a tie for fourth place (6 points), while Hana Card, led by a strong performance from ‘Vietnam Express’ Nguyen Quang Nguyen, defeated Hi-One Resort, 4-1, to move into sole possession of second place (3-1, 8 points) and chase NHK Card.
The NHK Card will attempt to make it five straight wins against SK Rent-a-Car in the first match of Day 5 of Round 3 at 12:30pm. This will be followed by Crown HaeTae and Blue One Resort at 3:30pm, Huons and Hana Card at 6:30pm, and Welcome Savings Bank and High One Resort at 9:30pm. Eswai will have a day off.스포츠토토
Meanwhile, the third round of the PBA Team League, which is being held at the Goyang Kintex PBA Stadium in Goyang City, Gyeonggi-do, will feature a “Cheer Pool Event” for fans visiting the venue. To participate, fans who bring their own cheerleading tools (sketchbook cheer pools) can watch one game per day for free.
