Romero gets away with ‘headbutting’ Son Heung-min…SON, “Where’s the team that hits their captain? It’s not fair”

While Son Heung-min, 31, was being interviewed, Christian Romero, 25, ran in and hit Son in the head before fleeing.

Tottenham defeated Fulham 2-0 in the ninth round of the 2023-24 English Premier League (EPL) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, on Sunday (Sept. 24). With the win, Tottenham, unbeaten in nine games (7 wins, 2 draws), regained sole possession of first place in the EPL.

Son Heung-min had a goal and an assist. Son opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a right-footed shot off a pass from Heung-min. Nine minutes into the second half, he assisted on James Maddison’s second goal. The goal was Son’s seventh in the EPL and moved him into a tie for second place on the league scoring list.

After the game, Son, who was named the EPL’s Man of the Match (MOM) by the league’s governing body, told Tottenham’s club website, “Everyone understands each other very well. It means a lot to play for Tottenham. Coach Angie Postecoglou emphasizes new things. We’ve been working really hard since pre-season. We all want to improve on last year,” he reflected.

As Son was being interviewed, vice captain Christian Romero walked up behind him. Romero punched Son Heung-min in the head and left. Heung-min told the hosts, “Did you see that? Tottenham’s captain gets bullied. It’s so unfair,” he said, laughing. All three hosts burst into laughter.

“Romero is a very special player. I could sit still all day and watch him play,” he added. That’s how good Romero’s defense is. For the start of the season, Son was named the new captain and Romero and Madison were named vice-captains.

“Up until last season, I was playing with the best player of all time (Harry Kane), and after he left, everyone took responsibility. We all became more cohesive. There is a lot of positive energy within the team. We recognize the direction we need to go,” he explained.

“We feel like a family. We’ve lacked that for years. We’re not in the best position yet, but we’re humble and take our responsibilities seriously.”짱구카지노 도메인

Son Heung-min switched positions from flanker to striker this season. It came with its own set of worries, but before he knew it, he had scored seven goals. “Every position is difficult,” he says. It may look easy, but it’s not. In Germany, I first played as a striker. At Tottenham, I’ve been playing striker since this season. It’s natural for me to press from a higher position.”

“Players like Maddison, Pedro Foro and Pape Sarr pass to me well, so I just need to shoot well. I’m confident that I can play any position. If the coach asks me to play on the flank, I can play,” he said.

Son added another goal on the day, giving him 110 in the EPL. He is tied with former England international striker Emile Heskey (45) for the EPL record. Just above Son are Sadio Mane (Al Nasr) and Dio Dublin (retired – 111+ goals). Ian Wright (retired – 113 goals) is next, followed by Raheem Sterling (Chelsea – 118 goals) and Steven Gerrard (retired – 120 goals).
