LG’s Oh Ji-hwan ‘dramatic three-run’ → Kim Yoon-sik crosses ‘winning ridge’, KT starts Uhm Sang-baek

The LG Twins have a Korean Series title in sight. With a Game 4 victory, they cross the Division 9 ridge to the championship. KT, on the other hand, aims to tie the series with a sweep.

LG earned an 8-7 victory over KT Wiz in Game 3 of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO Korean Series (KS) at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on Tuesday. With the win, LG improved to 2-1 in the series, giving the team an 85 percent chance of winning the Korean Series (17 of 20 all-time) after coming back from a 1-1 deficit to win two games.

LG will send left-hander Kim Yun-sik to the mound for Game 4 on Nov. 11, while KT will send sidearm Uhm Sang-baek.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams showing off their bats in the cold weather, especially Park Byung-ho’s two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning and Oh Ji-hwan’s three-run homer with two outs in the top of the ninth.

The first inning belonged to LG. After two outs in the top of the third inning, LG took the lead with a three-run blast from No. 4 Austin. KT responded with an RBI single by Hwang Jae-gyun. KT then tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning, capitalizing on an error by Oh Ji-hwan, and then took a 4-3 lead with a game-winning RBI single up the middle by Choi Seok-ho. LG answered right back in the top of the sixth inning, with Park Dong-won hitting a two-run double for the second straight game to regain the lead at 5-4. However, reliever Ko Woo-seok’s eighth inning appearance was not a good one. LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop brought in Go Woo-seok in the eighth inning to try and seal the win, but immediately after giving up a hit to Choi Jae-dae, he gave up the tying run to Hwang Jae-gyun on first and second base.

He then gave up a two-run homer to Park Byung-ho to end the game. Byung-ho Park, on the other hand, shook off his postseason hitting slump with a home run. The momentum had already shifted. However, LG did not give up. In the top of the ninth, Hong Chang-ki’s infield single and Austin’s walk put runners on second and third. Then captain Oh Ji-hwan came through. With one out, Oh didn’t miss a fastball up the middle from KT closer Kim Jae-yoon. The pitch stretched out, and Oh crushed it for a three-run home run over the right field fence to make it 8-7. 무지개토토 주소

However, LG was faced with runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth. Here, the LG bench made a decisive decision to pull Go Woo-seok and bring up Lee Jung-yong. After a wild pitch by Lee, the situation changed to runners on first and second and third, and the team was in danger of tying the game with a walk. From there, the LG Twins got Kim Sang-soo to pop out to the pitcher to end the game.
